Starting late afternoon/early evening at Lake District Adventures' base you'll paddle along the edge of Lake Karapiro & up the Pokaiwhenua Stream. Once it's dark you'll drift slowly back through the glow worm covered canyon.

Take a tour on the Waikato River Trail with one of our experienced and knowledgeable guides. The most popular trip for beginners is from Arapuni Dam or Jones Landing for intermediate riders. Trip takes approx. 3 to 4 hours.
Take a guided mountain bike tour on the Waikato River Trail. 16km on undulating grade 2 - 3 next to the mighty Waikato River past farmland & native bush. Then paddle the southern portion of Lake Karapiro and up the Pokaiwhenua Canyon
Shuttle Service from Lake District Adventures Base on Horahora Road, (300 metres from the northern end of the Trail), down to the Atiamuri Carpark at the southern end of the Waikato River Trail
Shuttle Service to or from Lake District Adventures base on Horahora Road, (300 metres from the end of the Waikato River Trail) down to Waipapa Dam.
Catch the Shuttle from our Base on Horahora Road with your own bike to the Arapuni Dam and then cycle the Waikato River Trail back one way at your leisure.
